1. WHAT IS THE PROCESS

Bring your pet to the studio in Edmonds, Washington for a delightful photo experience. We are set up for dogs, cats and occasionally other critters; with all the lights and equipment needed to create our signature large art prints.

Call to book a time.  We will ask about your pet’s personality (elegant, goofy, serious, playful, cuddly), size, color, etc.  We get together for the photo session.  After the photo session we delete all the shots when your pet simply wasn’t cooperating.  Then we send all the “keepers” to you to select the winner.  Once selected, the file (photo) goes to the retoucher (there is always that stray hair or slobber). Then the final production of your one-of-a-kind pet art portrait.

2. WHAT IS INCLUDED

Here are some of the things that make us unique. First, we make getting your pet art easy by offering a complete package, from shoot to frame (yet we are open to any changes you’d like). Second, our price is all inclusive and transparent. Third, we make all the images available for you.  All you have to do is hang your stunning art work to enjoy it for years to come.

> The Photo Session

The experience is a great outing with your best friend.  A pet portrait session typically includes chuckles and making fun memories as we carefully capture their personality. We use professional studio lighting and equipment to capture the image quality necessary for large portraits. The session typically takes about an hour to an hour and a half to capture the beauty and unique personality of your furry friend.

> Professional Retouching

There is always that bit of slobber we missed on set, or stray hair or the four legged model tracks dirt onto the backdrop. See Q&A for our retouching philosophy.

> Museum Quality Print

To showcase the beauty and personality of your best friend, the basic package includes a dramatic three-foot by two-foot museum quality print using special inks on archival paper.  These are much higher quality than your local drug store prints which don’t have the fine detail, nor the ante fade inks and archival paper, we provide.

If a different size better fits your décor, no problem.   See Q&A: Are there different sizes available?

One final suggestion.  If your artwork is going to be hanging where there if a lot of reflected light you may want to opt for optional museum quality glass. It cuts down reflection and also adds UV protection (we recommend not hanging any artwork in direct sunlight regardless of the glass).

> Frame

To make your life simple, we include a black half-inch wood frame that showcases your artwork.  If you would rather have a custom frame to match your décor, we will take the frame cost off the basic package price and be happy to provide ideas of where to find framing shops.

> Plus: Image Files

One of the big differences in pet portraiture versus people portraiture is the shooting style.  Unlike people, pets typically don’t cooperate when we say “would you move your nose two inches to the left”.  So, we have to take lots of shots to get some great ones.  What that means is that there may be many shots you like.  And why let them go to waste, if you would like the image files, we are happy to provide them.

Most traditional portrait businesses charge a “sitting fee” and then charge for each print. We are happy to have our clients use images for social media, your digital photo frame or maybe a t-shirt.  Remember when you work with photographers to ask if you have ownership and access to all of the images.

3. PRICING

We offer a unique base package that includes everything possible but the hook in your wall, even all the original images files. Our goal is to make it easy and affordable for you to smile every time you see your custom pet portrait.

No separate sitting fee then additional cost for the actual portrait; just one basic fee of $499 (less if you want to do your own frame).

Included is the dramatic three-foot by two-foot museum quality print.  If you would like a different size, multiple prints or any other changes, we are happy to quote a price upfront.
